As the 14th Annual Presidents Cup ended… we congratulate the American Team, with Captain Davis Love III, on a decisive win over the International Team, headed by Captain Trevor Immelman.

For the first time in its 25-year history, the Presidents Cup was contested in the Southeast and utilized the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Taking the top 12 player in America on the PGA Tour and matching them to the top 12 International players is a daunting task to say the least. Now putting them on a golf course that will test every shot from these Titans… and you begin to get the feel of the Presidents Cup.

The format for the 4-day event is equally challenging for the players and their Captains to select the players best suited to each other. Over the course of 4-day… the teams would play 30 matches.

Probably one of the most difficult things to do in Team Competition is the Alternate Shot portion, as you never know where you are going to hit your shot from.

Max Homa, giving Tony Finau a hard time during round one… “You meant to put me in the bunker… what’s the matter with you.”

But all in all, it is the fan experience while attending these PGA Tour events. The food… the connection to the players… the corporate connection to the community. Citi Interactive Zone had one of the stronger commitments to the fan experience… providing a putting green, playing for prizes and an indoor interaction tent to provided many thing to occupy the time during the event.

It is “All About the Fans” and sharing their love of country and golf.

Not exactly Captain America… but in his mind… he was the next best thing.

No… it isn’t me… but I am sure he is sipping on the Tito’s All-American Transfusion. – Tito’s Handmade Vodka, ginger ale, grape juice, fresh lime juice… and garnished with a strawberry, grape and blueberry skewer.

Presenting the USA colors in their very own special way in the first tee stadium area. The stadium was unlike any other Presidents Cup with the capacity to seat 2,500 fans.

I heard many fans talking, if they had to tee off out of this canyon… “I would not want to be the people on the right side of the stadium near the end.”

USA Team… Coaches… and Spouses gather on the 15th green to celebrate at Quail Hollow Club.

The Heartbeat of the Presidents Cup

More that 1,500 men and women are an integral part of this tournament’s success. These types of events don’t happen without dedicated volunteers that take pride in presenting a positive impact on their local community.

The Presidents Cup will return for the second time to The Royal Montreal Golf Club in 2024.

Founded in 1873, The Royal Montreal Golf Club is the oldest golf club in North America. Its Blue Course was designed by Dick Wilson and recently updated by Rees Jones in 2004 and 2005. In addition to hosting the Presidents Cup, The Royal Montreal Golf Club has also held the RBC Canadian Open on 10 occasions, with the most current being in 2014.
